Rangers fans have lauded Borna Barisic for a gesture he made toward the Young Boys supporters during Thursday night’s Europa League clash at Ibrox.

The Gers star appears to be keeping a foot injury, which ruled him out of last week’s trip to Pittodrie, at bay, and started this crucial tie in his usual left-back berth.

The quality of his left-footed deliveries have seen him become increasingly called upon from set-pieces, and during the first half, he wandered over towards the vocal away section to take a corner.

As he approached, the Swiss travelling fans ramped up the volume, directing boos and chanting in the Croatian international’s direction.

What did he do in response? He stuck his arms out wide as if to say ‘Is that all you’ve got?’

His actions prompted a word from the linesman but brought a roar from the Ibrox faithful, who very much approved.

The 27-year-old was praised on social media following the incident:

After a difficult second half at Hampden on Sunday, Barisic was back to his usual excellence in this one.

At £2 million, he is beginning to look a real steal as he’s as solid defensively as he is dangerous on the overlap.

He’ll be hoping to carry the good form into Sunday’s clash with Motherwell, as the Gers look to get back to winning ways.
