A special donation link has been set up for the Alfredo Morelos Foundation as Rangers fans are invited to help support the Colombian striker’s work in his home country.
The talismanic Ibrox forward hosted a special friendly match in his hometown of Cerete for the second year in a row in order to raise food parcels for the poorest within the community.
Entry to the match was a bag of non-perishable food items which were later distributed to local people, with the help of Alfredo.
Some 7000 people attended the match and the work of Alfredo’s Foundation is about supporting local people to achieve their dreams, escape poverty and be a role model to the community.
The Foundation has attracted much attention from Rangers fans and now a local Colombian journalist and associate of Morelos has set up a donation link.
Karina Ruiz Beleno works with local paper El Meridiano in the city of Monteria and is heavily involved with the foundation.
She took to Twitter to announce instructions for anyone who wants to contribute to this very worthy cause and help support the work being done by the Rangers striker.
Karina also spoke to the Daily Record about the foundation, where she spoke about the positive impact Morelos’ work is having in Colombia.
“What the Foundation seeks is to help low-income children to get ahead and fulfil their dreams, turn them into agents of change to help their community and keep them from the bad roads that are harming young people,” said Karina.
“The Botaven neighbourhood is a neighbourhood known and now more for Alfredo, all its neighbours are watching him, his matches with Rangers and the Colombian national team.

“Alfredo is a humble person, who always has his family in mind since they did everything possible to make him a great player today.
“It is recalled that his family was of limited resources and now Alfie is giving them a better quality of life.”
