Rangers fans invade Antwerp account after they send Euro message

Rangers fans will be hoping they can invade Belgium when the club play Royal Antwerp in the Europa League round of 32, but first they’ve invaded the club’s official Twitter account.

The Gers have drawn the Belgian side in the competition’s first knockout round in a tie which Steven Gerrard will fancy his chances in when it rolls around come February.

Taking to Twitter, the official Royal Antwerp account messaged the Ibrox club saying “see you soon” as they prepare to do battle with the Gers over two legs.

Naturally, the Ibrox club’s supporters took this an invitation to respond and flooded the account with plenty of messages explaining that Rangers will be Ready for the fight.

Rangers fans are ready to “let battle commence” as the club now shelves the Europa League campaign until next year and focuses on league duty:

Antwerp entered the Europa League last 32 after finishing second in Group J, behind English giants Tottenham Hotspur and in front of Austrian’s LASK and Bulgarian’s Ludogorets.

The Belgian side also managed to beat a strong Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side 1-0 in the first game between the two teams, which shows they’re not to be underestimated.

Rangers have already been to Belgium this season having played Standard Liege in the group stages where they enjoyed a 2-0 win in Belgium and a 3-2 victory at Ibrox.
