Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson certainly turned some heads with his mixed Old Firm Rangers Celtic XI [Scottish Sun] released earlier today.

The former Dundee United right-back is now a pundit and in the run-up to Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final, the defender picked his best XI between the two Glasgow clubs.

Rangers fans have been almost collectively spitting tea over their laptop and phone screens since he released it.

The most ridiculous claim is that Jeremie Frimpong, the latest Celtic £20m wonderbhoy, should be in the side ahead of Rangers captain and stalwart James Tavernier.

Frimpong has played the combined total of seven games and has only got two assists to his name.

James Tavernier is one of the Ibrox club’s biggest offensive assets, playing 28 games for Rangers this season, scoring three times and laying on a further 11.

There is no argument here, let alone the strange justification from Wilson that the “ratios” are pretty close. They’re not.
