Rangers fans in stitches at Celtic fans' embarrassing "shamble" banner

As Celtic go through a blip in form, the challenge for Rangers and their fans is to remain focused on what’s happening at Ibrox.

But with their supporters melting down at every opportunity and manager Neil Lennon staring down the barrel of the Celtic board’s gun, you’ll forgive some fans for indulging.

Rangers certainly haven’t won anything yet but the nervousness amongst our Old Firm rivals is palpable as their coaching staff feel the strain of one win in six matches.

Another target of the vehemence of some sections of the Celtic Park club is Republic of Ireland defender Shane Duffy, who cost the club a £2m loan fee in the summer.

The Brighton defender has been on hopeless form as of late and alongside Neil Lennon took the brunt of criticism from fans as they hung out the sheet of war outside Celtic Park.

Frustrated Celtic fans took to the Celtic Park gates to protest the goings-on at the club – despite winning the last 11 trophies – and slated both Lennon and Duffy.

A foul-mouthed message was daubed onto a white sheet and hung on the side of Celtic Park’s gates with the perpetrators demanding Neil Lennon and Shane Duffy are made to leave the club.

It also describes the situation at the club as a “shamble” in scenes which have astounded Ibrox supporters wincing in laughter:

All this is further evidence that Celtic and their fans are beginning to feel the pressure as Rangers look to ramp it up further with a win at Hamilton this afternoon.

Prior to Celtic’s 4-1 Europa League mauling to a depleted Sparta Prague, was Neil Lennon also beginning to crack with comments about Rangers in the pre-match presser?
