As Rangers romped to a 3-0 win at home to the Buddies, down the M77 in Kilmarnock rivals Celtic fell foul of the first twist of this big (very big) Scottish Premiership season.

A stubborn Kilmarnock side resisted our Old Firm rivals and were well worth their point in the end as they came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Rugby Park.

Rangers fans will do well not to gloat – too much at least – even if it was a nice surprise off the back of a comfortable win at Ibrox.

Naturally, there’s been more than a few Bears goading their Glasgow rivals but there’s a genuine sentiment amongst the Ibrox support but that it’s not worth getting carried away.

Nonetheless, the Gers fans’ reaction on Twitter and their baited hook appears to have caught an almighty whopper in the shape of ex-Celtic striker and CelticTV pundit Chris Sutton.

The former Parkhead idol was clearly feeling a bit sensitive as he gave Killie their dues and sarcastically conceded the league title.

Joking Gers fans weren’t going to let this one slide from a pundit who regularly takes every opportunity to twist the knife when things don’t go right at Ibrox.

The club’s supporters were in stitches as they let rip on Sutton after getting the nibble they wanted in the form of the Englishman’s tweet.

Rangers are yet to concede this season and have hit four goals in two games, winning them both.

However Hibs currently occupy top spot after securing two wins, scoring six goals and conceding two.

Ross County are the only other side with two wins in two and the pressure will now begin to mount as attention moves to Wednesday night’s round of fixtures.
