Former Ibrox midfielder Alex Rae and many Rangers fans have responded after Livingston had some fun at the expense of Hibernian and Ryan Porteous on Twitter on Wednesday.

In the only Premiership fixture of the night, Livi defeated Hibs 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Jack McMillan scored what would turn out to be the winner in the 16th minute while both Paul McGinn and Paul Hanlon were sent off for the visitors in the closing stages.

It was a seventh defeat in Hibs’ last nine league matches, leaving them seventh and 20 points behind league leaders Rangers.

Soon after the final whistle, Livi’s admin took the opportunity to poke fun at the opposition and more specifically, centre-back Porteous.

They tweeted a picture of McMillan celebrating the only goal of the game and captioned it: “Does he look happy?”

The comment was, of course, a reference to the line that Porteous gave during an interview with Premier Sports last month following his team’s League Cup semi-final win over Rangers.

Livi’s tweet went down extremely well with Rangers and Hearts supporters, in particular, racking up over 8.5k likes by the time of writing, as well as hundreds of comments.

Here are reactions from Alex Rae and a selection of Bears:

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old is likely to make the bench for Rangers against Lyon.
