Journalist Ewan Murray has suggested that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos may have dived to win the opening penalty against Aberdeen and it’s fair to say Gers fans don’t agree.
The journalist took to Twitter to ask “what actually knocked Morelos off his feet?” when he went to ground under the challenge of on-loan Bristol City defender Zak Vyner.
Gers fans were quick to leap on the comments of Murray, with those replying vehemently disagreeing with the notion Morelos dives to win the penalty.

The consensus is pretty overwhelming from the Ibrox faithful and you have got to agree that the referee got this one right.
Where Murray begins to get the notion that Morelos’ dived from has escaped most of these supporters.
Morelos is clearly clipped by Vyner and you can see by the defender’s reaction he knows that he has caught the Colombian.
James Tavernier converted from the spot to give Rangers the opening goal before the Ibrox side romped to a comfortable 5-0 victory over their northeast rivals.
Former Aberdeen player Greg Stewart would double the Ibrox side’s advantage with his first Rangers goal before another Alfredo Morelos would make it three not long after the restart.
Another James Tavernier penalty made it 4 before Jermain Defoe completed the rout with a deft chip over Aberdeen keeper Joe Lewis.
It’s fair to say neither penalty is really up for debate and Aberdeen were incredibly lucky to keep the scoreline down to five against what was a dominant Rangers performance.
