Rangers fans group the Union Bears have organised a special Trophy Day march set to take place on Glasgow on the day the Gers win 55.
Ibrox fans from all over the country will descend on the city this weekend as the club celebrates lifting a league title ten years in the making.
When James Tavernier hoists that trophy high above his head it will prove an emotional moment for thousands who’ve followed their club through thick and thin over the last ten seasons.
Rangers went to the brink and have now climbed their way back up the pyramid and nothing is likely to stop bluenoses everywhere celebrating this momentous occasion.
The Union Bears took to Twitter to announce their plans for the march which will take place in the aftermath of the final Scottish Premiership match of the season against Aberdeen at Ibrox.
It isn’t exactly clear when the march will kick off, but it will be in the vicinity of Ibrox Stadium and is set to see thousands march to George Square in celebration of 55.
“The Union Bears have organised a match to George Square on Saturday 15th May (trophy day) to celebrate the club’s historic 55th league title,” reads the statement.
“We are unable to confirm an exact time but we will be outside Ibrox after the match and once the trophy has been lifted, we will make our way to Govan Road/across from the Louden Tavern at Kinning Park.
“We would ask all supporters wishing to take part in the march to keep an eye out for members of the group outside Ibrox who will indicate when we are ready to head to the meeting point to begin the march.”
Rangers and their fans took some beating off politicians and other people of influence in the aftermath of the club’s title win in March, with parties taking place during a national lockdown.
However, this time the powers that be can’t deny they haven’t been fully warned as Rangers supporters gear up for the mother of all parties in George Square.
European governing body UEFA were also quick to distance themselves from government claims previous celebrations could affect Glasgow’s Euro 2020 host city status.
