Rangers fans have flocked to a tweet from the official UEFA Europa League account about Ibrox star Alfredo Morelos.
The Europa League finally returns on Thursday night for the knockout stages after a two-month break.
The Gers are in action against Royal Antwerp, with the first leg of their Round of 32 tie taking place at the Bosuilstadion in Belgium.
Steven Gerrard has a number of selection headaches heading into the match, but one player who will fancy his chances of returning to the XI is Morelos.
The Colombia international has missed the Gers’ last three matches after picking up a retrospective three-match violent conduct ban for an alleged stamp on Hibernian’s Ryan Porteous last month.
After a period away from the action, he should be fresh and raring to go in what appears to be his favourite competition.
Morelos broke the record for the most goals scored before Christmas in a UEFA comp last season and although he hasn’t been quite so prolific this campaign, he netted twice in qualifying and twice during the group stages.
Someone at UEFA clearly expects him to feature in Antwerp on Thursday night, as he was the subject of a tweet by the official Europa League account on Tuesday as they build up to the return of matches.
“Who’s celebrating here?” tweeted the account alongside an image in which the knee-sliding player in question was blanked out.
The answer, of course, was Morelos, with the photo taken following his famous goal in the 2-0 group stage win over Porto at Ibrox last season.
Supporters subsequently flocked to the tweet with praise and El Bufalo-related content, just as the admin had likely intended.
