Footage of Alfredo Morelos’ goal against Porto from the Europa League group stages, posted on Wednesday by the Rangers FC Twitter, has got plenty of Rangers fans fired up ahead Braga’s visit to Ibrox.

It’s been over two months since the Gers were last in European action and amid the recent domestic doom and gloom, it’s perhaps easy to forget that there have been plenty of achievements in a campaign that began way back in July.

The Gers successfully negotiated four qualifying rounds for the second year running, with a special last-minute winner from Alfredo Morelos seeing off a stubborn Legia Warsaw in the play-off round.

In the group stages, Rangers weren’t given much hope against three quality outfits, but they delivered. The opening matchday win over Feyenoord at Ibrox was special, and Gerrard’s side emerged with a lot of credit after securing draws in Rotterdam and away at Porto.

However, it was that 2-0 victory at home against the Portuguese giants, a club that reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, that was the real highlight.

It’s no surprise, then, that as a preview for European football returning under the Ibrox lights, the club’s media team wheeled out raw footage of Morelos’ sublime opening goal from that night.

The Columbian striker receives Ryan Jack’s cutback, takes one touch and then fires beyond the visiting goalkeeper, triggering chaos in the stands in Govan.

Unsurprisingly, Bears raved about the footage, which has clearly got a few fired up ahead of the visit of Braga.
