Rangers fans are excited about a tweet from Leon Balogun, as the player appears to have returned to fitness ahead of Saturday’s clash against Hamilton.

Balogun arrived on a free transfer late last month after the expiration of his deal at Wigan and made an immediate impression.

The Nigeria international was thrown straight into the starting XI for the opening day clash against Aberdeen, performing well alongside Connor Goldson as the Gers shut out their opposition.

Pace and composure on the ball look to be two of his biggest assets and he impressed again next time out against St Mirren, before being forced off with a quad strain in the following fixture against St Johnstone.

Since then, he has sat out of the draw at Livingston and last weekend’s 2-0 triumph over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

His tweet on Wednesday evening suggested he has now recovered, though, and is back ready for selection.

“Back on the pitch with the lads and went straight back to winning ways,” wrote Balogun on Twitter alongside a picture of himself, Jamie Barjonas, Steven Davis, Greg Stewart, Ianis Hagi, George Edmundson and Borna Barisic, celebrating a win in a training game.

Given that the Gers have kept several clean sheets in his absence, the ex-Brighton defender may not come straight back into the playing XI at the expense of Filip Helander.

Yet, he was so impressive in his opening Gers appearances, that plenty of supporters want to see him back involved as soon as possible.
