Former Rangers midfielder Charlie Miller has suggested Rangers should return Celtic’s ticket allocation in statements which don’t align with many of the support.
Rangers cut Celtic’s allocation last season by almost 90% and it had a resounding affect.
Not only did Rangers win the last two Old Firm matches in Govan by goals to nil, but Celtic’s players had jelly legs for 90 minutes both times. Fans will want the same this Sunday.
But Charlie claims that Rangers should be backing up their title bravado with a restoration of the near 7500 briefs in the Broomloan.
“Last year I’d have restricted the fans, 100 per cent because they were too far ahead of us and we were giving them every opportunity to give us a doing in our own stadium, with 7000 of them celebrating behind one goal,” said Miller, as quoted by talkSPORT.
“But this year it’s closer and I’d have given them the Celtic end back, let’s go for it. If Rangers think they’ve come as far as they believe they have, let’s make it a proper derby.”
In fairness to Charlie, he’s harking back to the halcyon days of 9IAR where in nine attempts, Miller was never on the losing side in an Old Firm derby.
Things are different now and Rangers must do all they can to wrestle that title back from Celtic. The allocation is just one part of it.
Needless to say, many of the club’s supporters disagree with Miller’s sentiments.

Now, Rangers go into Sunday’s Old Firm knowing three points will send them top of the league and give them an early title advantage.
