Rangers fans are getting excited about the news that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is closing in on a move to Ibrox as the club’s new manager.
The likes of Sky Sports and the Guardian are reporting that Rangers are in the final negotiations with the ex-Rangers, Arsenal and Barcelona star as they look to replace Steven Gerrard.
BBC Sport also claim that Rangers are hopeful of having a manager appointed – if not in the dugout -for the Hampden Park Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Hibs.
Whatever the case, fans are picking up on the suggestion that van Bronckhorst will be in the door before long and it’s got supporters very excited indeed.
After the bitter fall-out of Steven Gerrard’s swift Ibrox exit, supporters are ready to love again taking just a week to get over the Liverpool legend’s move to Aston Villa.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst, 46, had a legendary playing career winning a host of top trophies playing at Rangers, Arsenal, Barcelona and Feyenoord.
Not only that, but Gio captained the Netherlands in the 2010 South Africa World Cup Final and as far as careers go, probably had an even better one that the man he’s replacing.
In management, van Bronckhorst has also won more than Stevie G, having won five trophies with Feyenoord including their first league title in 18 years.
A challenging stint in China during the Covid-19 pandemic followed and now van Bronckhorst is ready to return to management with fans buzzing that Ibrox looks the likely destination:
