Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has been called up to Nigeria squad as the talented midfielder’s season goes from strength-to-strength.
The highly-rated box-to-box centre mid signed on at Rangers in the summer and has already been making a big impression on Gers fans, scoring three goals in seven games.
Aribo, full name Joseph Oluwaseyi Temitope Ayodele-Aribo, will join up with the Super Eagles for their match with Ukraine on September 10th.
The midfielder’s arrival in Glasgow was controversially met with much disdain from the likes of former boss at Charlton Lee Bowyer, who described his move to Ibrox as a mistake.
This feeling at Charlton was reinforced by club legend Chris Powell, who said he was surprised at the move [Daily Star].
Yet since arriving in Scotland the 23-year-old has began to show exactly why Steven Gerrard was so excited to get him through the door.

Not only that, but Aribo is already emerging as a fan favourite at Ibrox, cementing his place in Gerrard’s team.
Rangers fans have been taking to Twitter to congratulate the midfielder on the achievement.

The club’s supporters are clearly delighted for the talented midfielder and we’re sure bluenoses everywhere will be following Nigeria closely as he turns out for them.
You’ve got to wonder if he’d have got anywhere near the African nation’s squad playing for Charlton or Brentford in the English Championship.
