New Rangers defender Leon Balogun is “officially a Glaswegian” after finally moving to Glasgow.
The big Nigerian international impressed on his debut in the 1-0 win away to Aberdeen and after his Man of the Match performance has now moved his stuff up the road.
Taking to Twitter to thank Richard Healey Removals for transporting his stuff up to Glasgow, the 32-year-old centre-half also thanked the firm for helping him to get settled.
Balogun’s signing came after a cruciate ligament injury to Nikola Katic ruled the Croatian defender out until at least the new year.
It left the Gers short at the back and the club quickly moved for former Wigan defender Balogun to plug the gap.
The defender was a fan favourite with the Latics and has an impressive footballing C.V. which spans Germany with the likes of Werder Bremen and Mainz and Brighton in the Premier League.
Berlin-born Balogun has also represented his country 32 times including all three games at the 2018 Russian World Cup.
Balogun’s powerful, ball-playing style earned him immediate comparisons to Ibrox cult hero Madjid Bougherra and the club’s supporters took to Twitter again to welcome the player to Glasgow.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard lauded the signing, saying Balogun “is an experienced centre half, who will add strength and depth to our squad”.
He added, “his experience in the Premier League as well as his international pedigree strengthens our squad and will assist in the development of our young defenders” [Rangers].
