Rangers fans are buzzing after new signing John Lundstram was snapped in training ahead of Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Tranmere Rovers.

The Gers got their preparations for 2021/22 off to a positive start on Monday evening with a 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle.

Lundstram’s arrival had been announced earlier in the day but he wasn’t deemed ready to be involved.

The 27-year-old took full part in training on Thursday, though, with the club’s official account posting a photo of him in action and hinting that he’s set to make his first appearance at the weekend.

The Gers are crossing the border to face EFL League Two outfit Tranmere, who are managed by former Dundee United boss Micky Mellon, and it looks like an ideal fixture in which to give minutes to new arrivals like Lundstram and Nnamdi Ofoborh.

It looks like the former Sheffield United star is in good shape ahead of the game and the responses to the tweet from Bears were overwhelmingly positive.

The noise around Lundstram hasn’t all been positive, though, with an EFL club expert dropping a warning about his attitude.
