Rangers have been handed a boost by the return of Scotland international midfielder Ryan Jack to the side ahead of the trip of Ross County to Ibrox.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard revealed that the midfielder would be returning to the squad for the visit of the Staggies in what he described as an “immense boost”.

Jacko’s imminent return was also praised by midfielder Joe Aribo as Gers boss Gerrard also positive about the injury situation with Kemar Roofe, Scott Arfield and long-term absentee Niko Katic.

“Katic is progressing well,” said Gerrard [Rangers].

“Arfield also progressing well and hopefully on track for a return early Feb to the group.

“Ryan Jack is back in the squad for tomorrow. Kemar Roofe we will make a decision on today as he returns to training.

“We’ve missed Jack for sure, he is a big player and character so to have him back and fighting for a starting slot is an immense boost for everyone connected with the club.

“He can help us moving forward massively.”

Ryan Jack, 28, is an important figure in the Rangers side and the fact that both Gerrard and Joe Aribo were so complimentary of the player shows how influential he is at Ibrox.

Jacko is also a popular figure amongst the Rangers support with plenty of fans buzzing about the imminent return of the industrious midfielder.

Rangers will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the match with Ross County after stumbling to a 1-1 draw with Motherwell last weekend.
