Rangers fans have responded on social media after the club officially released their Castore-made special 150th anniversary kit.

After much speculation, the club’s fourth kit of the 2021/22 campaign was unveiled at 10am on Thursday morning.

It was a clever strategic move from Rangers and Castore, as it came shortly before the start of a MyGers open training session at Ibrox.

The classic white kit features a stitched scroll crest with the 150th anniversary ribbon added underneath.

The white design pays tribute to the club’s first team photograph in 1877, while the goalkeeper kit is blue.

The Castore badge appears on the shirt but the kit is otherwise sponsorless, with the club making a point of thanking a number of partners for permitting the production of a kit without their logos.

Rangers unveiled the kit via a special video that uses images and archive footage to take fans through the club’s history before substituting several current first-team stars – wearing the 150th anniversary kit – into the first-ever Gers team photo.

“Rangers are delighted to unveil ‘’The Legacy of Ready’’ video to celebrate 150 illustrious years of our club,” said Rangers Head of Marketing & Design, Charlene Shore-Henderson [Rangers.co.uk].

“The video is an illustration of our past and an inspiration for the future. Built on the vision of the four lads, the club still stands strong on the principles of the gallant pioneers.”

It’s safe to say that the design has gone down extremely well with supporters, who took to social media in their droves to praise the club and Castore.
