Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has certainly been on better form in the famous blue jersey as summed up by a raft of frustrating mistakes in the 3-1 defeat to Leverkusen.

Too often the midfielder was caught in position or misplaced a simple pass on a night when Rangers were relying on their biggest and most experienced players to step up.

The Northern Ireland captain is now 35 but for the first half of the campaign played with all the poise, grace and class of a player which lead successful Rangers sides of the past.

But recently there has been a real downturn in the midfielder’s form, something which hasn’t failed to catch the eye of Rangers supporters.

Whilst the midfielder rarely hides – Davis is always an option for the centre-backs and always willing to take possession – he has been all too wasteful on the ball in recent weeks.

Simple five-yard passes have missed their man and balls over the top have been hopeful and by-and-large wasteful.

Davis isn’t alone in being on poor form in this Rangers side and his recent performances have run parallel with the slide of his teammates.

It’s had Rangers fans scratching their head as to what has happened to the midfielder in the second half of 2020.

Here’s what some Rangers fans had to say on Davis’ performance against Leverkusen in the Europa League:
