Barry Ferguson was snapped lapping up the support of the Rangers fans after the club’s comeback victory over Kilmarnock in Ayrshire.

The Rangers legend’s first game as interim manager could not have started any worse with Kilmarnock racing into a 2-0 lead within 15 minutes.

But after Barry Ferguson took the bold decision to sub Clinton Nsiala off the pitch on the 30 minute mark, the game turned on its head.

In a performance which embodied everything that Barry Ferguson the player was about when he wore the Rangers jersey, the Ibrox side turned things around and produced a stunning 4-2 victory.

Rangers fans hail Barry Ferguson’s ‘passion’

Rangers fans have been reacting to the victory over Kilmarnock on social media platform X and in particular the celebrations of Barry Ferguson.

The former Rangers captain certainly enjoyed being on the touchline at Rugby Park and fans have one word in particular for Ferguson’s enthusiasm.

Passion.

One supporter said ‘well done’ to Barry Ferguson and hailed a ‘wee bit of enthusiasm and passion on the touchline for a change’.

Another fan urged supporters to ‘delete the tweets’ they had lined up to criticise the team after Rangers staged a stunning comeback at Rugby Park.

One supporter claimed that the comeback ‘doesn’t happen under Clement’ and claimed Ferguson is ‘off to a flyer’ with the result at Rugby Park.

Even the official Rangers account got in on the act.

Rangers manager bringing life back to Ibrox

Rangers produced a stunning comeback to not only get the three points at Kilmarnock but to get Barry Ferguson’s reign off to a winning start.

Philippe Clement explicitly explained that as a football manager he was never going to get too up or down about results and perhaps that balance let him down at Ibrox in the end.

Conversely, Barry Ferguson is a character who has always worn his heart on his sleeve and it’s clear the former Rangers captain is going to bring the passion back to Ibrox.

Rangers fans are already taking notice but before anyone gets too excited, let’s just see how the next few months go in Glasgow.
