Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly an ambitious target for Bristol City as their billionaire owner looks to change the Championship side’s fortunes.
The Express are claiming that Gerrard is on a four-man shortlist alongside ex-Brighton boss Chris Hughton, Charlton’s Lee Bowyer and Plymouth Argyle’s Ryan Lowe.
Steve Lansdown – the Robins’ cash-rich owner – sacked the previous boss Lee Johnson following a run of nine games without a win.

Having just signed a new contract last season, Gerrard is tied down to Ibrox until 2024 and has consistently reiterated how committed he is to Rangers.
To describe any Bristol City interest in the Gers manager as ambitious is an understatement, to say the least.
It is incredibly unlikely the Rangers boss would leave Ibrox for that Bristol City role and members of the Rangers support have been discussing the links on Twitter.
Most have laughed them off.
Rangers, first Scottish team to get to last 16 of a European competition in years and are still in the last 16
Or a team whos sitting mid table in the championship and will never go anywhere in England or Europe
Tough choice 🤥🤥😂😂😂😂

The Rangers job is Liverpool and England legend Steven Gerrard’s first in management and there can be no denying the influence he has exerted over Ibrox since first walking in the door.
But his tenure at Rangers will be judged on trophies and going forward the Ibrox faithful are expecting more silverware.
If he can’t deliver it, it might not be interest from Bristol City which sees him leave Rangers.
