After a brace at Fir Park, Rangers fans are buoyed with Kyle Lafferty’s performance in the 3-3 draw against Motherwell.
Having a Laff
The result left Rangers with just one win from their opening three Premiership games this season. A last-minute Peter Hartley header sealed a dramatic point for the Steelmen. The goal was a sickening for the Gers support after Hartley made controversial comments pre-match.

Earlier, Danny Johnson and Carl McHugh both had strikes pegged back by Lafferty. Ovie Ejaria had given the Gers a 3-2 advantage heading into half-time.
However, it was the performance of Lafferty that had fans salivating. The Northern Irishman made his full debut for the Ibrox side, and gave Gerrard a real dilemma ahead of Thursday night’s second leg against Ufa.
Supporters subsequently took to social media to praise new-man Lafferty, and here’s the best of those comments below:

Lafferty put in a terrific display at Fir Park. Added to his two goals, he linked-up well with Alfredo Morelos which showed a potential partnership in the making. His hold-up play also looks to have improved massively, with some terrific touches and passing helping Rangers to turn defence into attack.
However, the draw means Rangers drop down to fourth in the Premiership ahead of next week’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead. A win there would, however, see them overtake their city rivals, who beat Hamilton 1-0 this afternoon.
Defensive woes
The draw also seen an unusually shaky performance by the Gers back-line. Three goals were conceded by individual mistakes that allowed Motherwell to profit. It remains to be seen whether this was a one-off, but the nature of the goals shipped will concern Gerrard.
Next up, Rangers travel to FC Ufa of Russia for the second leg of their Europa League playoff clash. The Gers lead 1-0 in the tie thanks to Connor Goldson’s solitary goal at Ibrox last week.
