Rangers fans all say the same thing about classy Philippe Clement statement

Philippe Clement has broken his silence over a week on from being sacked by Rangers.

Clement addressed Gers fans and the club as a whole as he released a statement this morning, expressing his regret that he couldn’t bring the success he and the support craved.

The Belgian insists he and his staff worked tirelessly to try to do so despite falling short and says he will never forget some of the good times he did have during his spell at Ibrox.

Fans were mostly of the opinion it was time for change when Clement was sacked nine days ago, but given how things have gone under Barry Ferguson since, there may be scope for some changed opinions.

Although it has since been claimed the Gers squad weren’t enjoying his training, branded ‘repetitive.’

And they were also reportedly baffled by a decision to bring Hamza Igamane on at left wing in a game against Dundee United.

Rangers fans react to Clement statement

Clement’s statement was a classy one, thanking the club and the fans for the chance to manage them.

Rangers fans almost all seem to be in agreement on that and many also appear ready to admit that the manager wasn’t the main problem at the club.

One said: “Definitely the man for the job imo just the board and players let you down and Celtic have been on point recently, all the best Clement.”

Another wrote: “You inherited a weak willed squad and you were lied too by an incompetent board who had given too much money to previous management teams. Although it may have been time to go, the blame is not on your doorstep. All the best to you Phil.”

This fan said: “All the best Phil, you had some extremely difficult circumstances to deal with and still gave it your all. It unfortunately just didn’t work out. All the best big man

And another wrote: “Mr Clement, Rangers manager is a difficult and challenging position, with no time allowance, a unique job. I cannot fault the effort you put in and feel strongly you were let down by others. I am confident your success in the future will prove me correct. Thank you”

Not everyone was in agreement though and one said: “Many great moments… will never get us, good riddance.”

What Clement said about Rangers departure

“Dear Rangers,

“It has taken me a few days to fully process and accept the end of my time at this exceptional club.

“I leave with a heavy heart, frustrated and disappointed that I couldn’t consistently bring the team to the level we all expected. I understand your frustrations, and I share them.

“We worked passionately, day and night, and while we faced challenges, I will never forget the many great moments we had together. Your unwavering support and the energy from the fans made those times truly special. In those moments, it felt like we were one big family.

“For that reason, Rangers will always hold a special place in my heart.

“Thank you,

“Philippe.”
