Joe Worrall’s performance against Kilmarnock has brought plenty of ire from the Rangers supporters.

The Gers put in another poor showing as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock. Alfredo Morelos typically opened the scoring early on, but a swift Greg Stewart equaliser earned Killie a massive point.

Steven Gerrard was looking for a response from his players against the Ayrshire side. To say he didn’t get it would be a huge understatement. Rangers were woeful for large spells, but they did at least create some chances unlike against Aberdeen.

That hasn’t helped the supporters get over it any better, however. Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to aim their anger at centre-back Worrall.

Big decision to be made

Worrall certainly wasn’t dreadful against Kilmarnock, but he didn’t inspire confidence either. In his nine appearances so far for Rangers, the club have only kept two clean sheets.

The question will now continue to rumble on over the next few days about who should play – Nikola Katic or Worrall. It’s a debate that has now reared its head a few times.

Katic, of course, did come into the side against Hamilton Accies two weeks ago. In truth, however, the big Croatian had a shocking game and looked nervy whenever the ball came up to him.

Rangers have to swiftly move on to the match at St Mirren on Saturday. Allowing themselves to slip further behind Celtic and Hearts doesn’t bear thinking about for Gers supporters. Both results and performances have been on the decline in the last few matches, and they need to bounce back as soon as possible.

Worrall has been constantly under scrutiny at Ibrox since coming into the side. He’s yet to convince many supporters that he’s the man to be partnering Connor Goldson. A lack of victories whilst he’s on the pitch – four out of nine – and supporters are struggling to be convinced.
