Club fan account Rangers Culture has claimed that Greg Docherty turned out for the Gers in a bounce game against Chelsea today [Tuesday].

The 22-year-old midfielder signed for the club from Hamilton in January 2018.
However, he hasn’t featured in a competitive match under Steven Gerrard. Faced with the prospect of limited game time this season, he opted to go on loan to League One with Shrewsbury Town.
As it turned out, he was a crucial factor in keeping the Shrews in the third tier of English football.
One of the first names on the teamsheet, Docherty racked up 50 appearances. He carried a substantial goal threat, too, scoring seven times and notching eight assists in the league.
Contribution after contribution saw him recently named Town’s Player of the Season [Shropshire Star].
However, now the regular EFL season has concluded, he has returned to Ibrox.
There had previously been no suggestion that he would be involved for the Gers at all before pre-season.

Yet, Rangers Culture’s claim suggests otherwise.
His appearance comes after Steven Gerrard explained on Sunday, that the Chelsea game would be used to give some players minutes with a view to them featuring against Killie [RangersTV].
However, that will come too soon for Docherty, as he will have to wait until the transfer window opens again to be re-registered. Only then, will he be eligible to take part in SPFL fixtures.
