Rangers could face a massive dilemma over wonderkid Ianis Hagi in the summer with the Romanian’s expected involvement in this summer’s Olympics in Tokyo ruling him out of some potentially massive European qualifiers.
Hagi has made a huge impact at Ibrox since signing on loan and with the Gers having an ‘exclusive’ option to make his move permanent this summer, they may be without him until the season is well underway.

Gers assistant boss Gary McAllister has previously hinted that Rangers would look to make his move a permanent one after being impressed with the wonderkid.
“The thing is, if the lad keeps performing, it’s something you’ve got to be looking at I would imagine,” he said with a smile, as captured by Sky Sports.
“I think the manager has the final say on that, but the thing is he’s impressed all of us so far. We just want to keep this young man going, keep his confidence high and keep encouraging him to do the things that he’s good at.”
The Olympic football takes place between July 22nd and August 8th this year and Rangers will likely be without Hagi until the playoff round takes place in the middle of August.
However, there could be another hurdle in the Gers path with Romania also on the brink of qualifying for Euro 2020, it could see Hagi playing right through the summer with no chance for a break.
Since arriving at Ibrox, his quality has been on show for all to see and there won’t be many Gers fans who don’t want the club to already be working on making his move permanent.

With it looking almost certain that Hagi will be unavailable early in the campaign – should he make his switch a long-term move – then it could affect the Gers transfer dealings in the summer as they await his return.
Hopefully, playing in the Olympics (and potentially the Euros) doesn’t then become something that hinders his club form after a hectic summer of travelling and playing for his country.
