Rangers may not have immediate plans to sack Michael Beale but rumours suggest that Pascal Jansen is on the radar as a potential successor.
The Gers are in Scottish League Cup action tonight, hosting Livingston at Ibrox with a spot in the semi-finals up for grabs.
Michael Beale really needs a win here; the Scottish League Cup offers a great chance of silverware, especially with Celtic already out.
Rangers were unconvincing in Sunday’s win over Motherwell, leading to jeers from supporters who are expecting much better.
Beale is a man under huge pressure right now and he won’t exactly feel eased with rumours about Rangers eyeing up other managers…
Pascal Jansen the latest manager linked with Rangers
We have already seen a few rumours about potential managerial appointments at Ibrox.
The Daily Mail reported earlier in September that Birmingham City boss John Eustace was a contender if Beale was to lose his job.
The Sun added that Graham Potter had rejected an approach from Rangers as he waits for the ideal next opportunity.
There is a new name in the picture though as TEAMtalk claim that Rangers are interested in AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen.
It’s stated that Jansen’s work at AZ has been noticed by Rangers, but he is also wanted by Everton and Crystal Palace too.
Jansen currently has AZ in second place in the Eredivisie table and could be a top Rangers target if Beale can’t turn it around.

Celtic wanted Jansen this summer
London-born Jansen isn’t a huge name but he has impressed with AZ since taking over from now-Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.
Jansen guided AZ to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League last season, only to lose out to eventual winners West Ham United.
What’s interesting is that this alleged interest from Rangers comes just months after he was targeted by bitter rivals Celtic.
90Min reported in June that Celtic were eyeing up Jansen as a possible replacement for Ange Postecoglou as he joined Tottenham Hotspur.
Celtic ended up going with Brendan Rodgers in the end but Jansen could yet find his way to Glasgow.
The hope would be that Jansen can help bring the Scottish Premiership back to Ibrox and ultimately see off Celtic in the process.
That would be quite the turn of events, and whilst there is time for Beale to turn things around, it needs to start soon – or those links to Jansen and other managers will only grow stronger.
