I don’t think anyone seen Rangers Europa League rise coming. Not that we’re complaining.

The performances across qualifying were simply superb.

The performances since we’ve got there have been even better.

The fans the entire way have been simply the best.

UEFA have celebrated the rise with an inspiring little segment during their Europa League coverage. It’s a positive, creative look at how much this means to the supporters. With a little spoken word thrown in. It’ll be amongst the best five minutes you spend tonight.

Real European optimism

Two games in and the club sit top of Group G in the Europa League. With four games to go there is real optimism we can take this even further. We are, after all, on our way.

Next up is Spartak Moscow at Ibrox, in a match we must get a result in if we’re to stand a chance of qualifying. If we get a win the roof of Ibrox might just blow off. That said, we have a tough game with Hamilton to focus on first.

But whilst our eyes are fixated on reclaiming the throne in Scotland, Europe this season has been so much more than a welcome distraction. We’ve seen some of the most iconic performances of the last eight years and it has acted as a catalyst for Gerrard’s bold start.

Rangers Europa League rise might’ve taken us all a little by surprise.

But the thing is, we might only just be getting started.
