Rangers’ fantastic Europa League run has helped Scotland secure a second spot in the Champions League – and the Gers’ success has been highlighted by their jump in the latest UEFA club rankings, going from 206th to 94th.
The Gers went from the first qualifying round through to the last 16, where they lost to Bayer Leverkusen and fired themselves up the club coefficient table.

That saw Rangers earn 18 of the 39 points earned by Scottish clubs as a whole and will see the top two from this season’s Scottish Premiership take a place in the Champions League qualifiers.
Rangers’ form in Europe saw them finish 31st for the total club coefficient points gained over the season, one point ahead of Celtic in 32nd.
After only just ending their European campaign recently, Gerrard’s side will soon be back in continental action with the draw for their entry into this season’s Europa League taking place on Monday.

The Light Blues will enter at the second qualifying round and could be joined in the draw by Motherwell and Aberdeen if they can get through their first qualifying round ties.
Rangers will be hoping to again make the group stages and continue to build on their growing reputation under Steven Gerrard in European competition before a crack at making the Champions League groups next season.
