One of Steven Gerrard’s summer signings has come under fire on the Record Rangers Podcast.

In fairness, a two month injury layoff has hardly been beneficial.
However, we did draw attention to some questionable
comments he made earlier in the week. The 23-year-old claimed that when he picked up his foot injury during Rangers’ mid-season training camp, his first fear was losing his place in the national team.
Now, he’s come under fire not just for those comments, but for his displays since moving to Ibrox.
Jonny McFarlane asked on the Podcast whether or not Grezda is any better than Hibs’ Daryl Horgan or Aberdeen’s Gary Mackay-Steven.
In response, Gavin Berry said: “No, hopeless.”

Gordon Parks then chimed in: “His comment about getting fit because he wanted to keep his place in the Albanian team, should be a disclaimer to get him out the door as quickly as possible.”
“He looks so far short to me and again, it was a lazy signing”, Parks concluded.

There’s certainly no mistaking where the Record’s panel sit on this one.
Of course, there’s a danger of writing a player like Grezda off too early. Some players need longer than others to settle in.

At the minute, though, he hasn’t done anything to suggest this criticism is misguided.
With just two goals in 15 appearances for Rangers, he has plenty of work to do between now and the end of the season.
