Rangers enter the race for Crystal Palace starlet as Premier League connection could be vital.

Rangers are looking to add more signings to their squad during the last three days of the transfer window, with the club looking at Crystal Palace starlet Daniel Quick [GiveMeSport].

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could utilise his Premier League connections to land a major advantage as Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira was a former teammate of the Dutchman between 2001 and 2003 at Arsenal.

Transfer insider Dean Jones, who recently claimed that Anthony Martial was set to complete a loan spell to Sevilla instead of joining Juventus, has stated that the Ibrox side is hot on the heels of the talented Palace defender as the window nears a close.

“Rangers are interested in signing Daniel Quick from Crystal Palace on a permanent deal,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

“There are others trying to sign him too, including Leicester, Southampton, Borussia Dortmund, and PSV.”

Judging by these comments, Rangers face a tough task trying to lure the 19-year-old away from London.

Daniel Quick could be an interesting signing for Rangers

Although the current scenario with the squad is that we need another midfielder or two, adding youth talent is always welcomed.

Quick has played for the Palace under 18 side and scored three goals whilst providing one assist as the team fought for the Premier League South title, not bad going for a centre back.

The defender has made the step up this term, playing for the under 23s, featuring four times so far.

The defensive situation at Ibrox is complex, with Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun out of contract at the end of the season and John Souttar signing on a pre-contract agreement to join in the summer, there could be a merry go round of ins and outs.

With Giovanni van Bronckhorst looking to build for the future, then securing the services of the Englishman would make sense.

Hopefully, Gio and Vieria can thrash out a deal before the transfer window shuts.

Meanwhile, the Rangers manager could utilise his connection with Pep Guardiola to secure a highly-rated talent before the window shuts.
