Scottish Daily Mail journalist Mark Wilson has claimed that two Rangers outcasts could leave the club on deadline day.
Steven Gerrard suggested after Sunday’s Old Firm defeat that there could finally be movement with those outcasts and it seems clubs are circling.
Rangers duo Dodoo and Holt could be on the move
Wilson suggests that several clubs are ‘looking at’ moving for 24-year-old forward, Joe Dodoo.
He joined the Gers on a four-year deal back in 2016 [BBC Sport], but hasn’t started a game for several seasons. Two loan spells, first at Charlton and then at Blackpool, have provided playing time, but he’s struggled to find a new club this summer.

Bolton are the only interested party who have been named by Wilson at this stage. A week ago, they were on the brink of expulsion from the EFL, but a Football Ventures takeover stabilised their financial situation [BBC Sport]. They are now looking to rebuild their squad and the attacker is experienced at League One level.
Jason Holt hasn’t kicked a ball under Steven Gerrard, either. A permanent contract didn’t materialise following a loan stint under Joey Barton at Fleetwood Town last season. Yet, it seems that a late move to a Scottish Premiership club could still be on the cards.

The Scottish Sun reported recently that St Johnstone were interested in a loan swoop for the midfielder. Wilson asserts that that move remains a ‘possibility’ in the final hours of the window.
It could only be positive for Rangers if both of these players secure late moves.
Gerrard clearly has no plans to involve either, and whether permanent or temporary, their departures will help to lighten the wage bill.
Every little will help, especially if the Gers can pull off a sensational late swoop for Ryan Kent, with Paul Joyce claiming a deal is close.
