Rangers have dropped a huge hint that South African summer signing Bongani Zungu is about to join up with his new teammates.

The Ibrox side took to Twitter to share a picture of the letter Z with fans putting two and two together with the midfielder officially out of a two-week quarantine.

South African international Zungu has been forced to wait it out two weeks since entering the UK due to current travel restrictions between Britain and France.

The midfielder has signed for Rangers on loan until the end of the season with reports suggesting the Gers will need to stump up £2.7m (€3m) if they want to make the deal permanent [Daily Record].

An immensely popular figure amongst the South African support, Zungu has also been recalled to the Bafana Bafana squad since joining the Ibrox club.

Rangers signed Zungu after a long, drawn-out summer of negotiations with the Ibrox side allegedly having a bid accepted in July before a loan deal was struck in October.

Rangers fans are naturally very excited to see their new man in action and have taken to Twitter as the club’s official account builds excitement around the player.

Zungu would later take to Twitter via the club’s official channel to announce his arrival at Ibrox.

Rangers are set to pay Lech Poznan on Thursday evening in the Europa League with Zungu registered to play in the squad, but this match may well come too soon for the midfielder.

Here’s our predicted XI for the match as the Gers look to make it six points from six from their opening two Europa League matches.
