As season ticket sales at Ibrox surpassed the 44k mark, it’s become clear that there will be more than a few heartbroken Rangers fans unable to get their hands on one this season.
Demand is so frighteningly high when it comes to Ibrox that season books are gold dust and the club has already reached this massive number of books sold before renewal season is over.

That means the tens of thousands of waiting lists everywhere will be made to wait but given the velocity at which tickets went this season, they could be waiting quite a while.
But for any bluenoses who’re bitterly disappointed by their inability to get a brief for season 21/22, Rangers might just have a solution for everyone. Well, eventually.
Ibrox vice-chairman John Bennet will go down in history as one of the men who helped salvage Rangers and he has been speaking this week about potential stadium expansion.
It’s an idea which has long been mooted by supporters and Bennet has reiterated that the club are working to make this a reality.
However, whilst expansion sounds great, for the next period the focus will be firmly on New Edmiston House which is under construction and will offer a club store, museum and fan space.
“Yes there are [plans to increase the stadium capacity],” said Bennet [Louden Tavern Podcast].
“The most immediate one is something around Argyle House which will involve extra seating.
“There are longer-term plans that might be able to add more seating but I’m going to describe that as ‘mid-term’ as we want to do Edmiston House, we want to get that museum up and running.
“I’m a real backer of the museum, I do think this is a real legacy moment for the club.
“We’re making this bridge from a recovery phase to a growth phase.
“When you see us putting in some new, premium seating and ally that with Edmiston House, the museum, I think you can see then that this club is putting the dark years behind us.
“It won’t be in one year’s time but I don’t think it’s as far away as five years’ time that you will see a bit more stadium expansion happening.”

At present Ibrox holds a capacity of 51,082 seats and even by adding an extra three or four thousand seats, this would go some way to satisfying the bulging demand amongst fans.
Rangers have invited supporters to buy packages to help support the New Edmiston House building – but did the unveil also give a clue to the new strips for next season?
