Rangers kid Ciaran Dickson impressed on his debut in the 4-0 Betfred Cup win over Falkirk – but it wasn’t just his performance which caught the eye of supporters.

The Academy midfielder looked confident and capable as he took on the floundering Falkirk defence and later earned the applause of manager Steven Gerrard for doing so.

But Dickson’s staunch choice of shirt number – the number 55 – had Gers fans buzzing on Twitter.

The number represents the club’s hallowed 55th league title which Rangers hope will be secured this season after a rampant start to the campaign.

The club are currently 11 points clear in the Scottish Premiership – albeit with Celtic having two games in hand behind them – and now into the quarter finals of the Betfred Cup, where they will face St. Mirren.

Every set of supporters loves to see one of their own represent them and for some fans on Twitter the fact Dickson has chosen 55 as his shirt number is evidence that he’s Rangers through and through.

The club’s supporters were impressed with the youngster’s performance and took to Twitter to commend his performance and his choice of shirt number:

Ciaran Dickson wasn’t the only Rangers kid to make his debut in the match as 16-year-old Leon King also took to the field in the second half.

There was also a cameo for ex-first-teamer Glenn Middleton, with Steven Gerrard praising all three after the match.
