A leading Colombian journalist has retweeted a claim from Lille fan media that a deal for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is “cold but not frozen”.
Carlos Aleman – who works for WinSportsTV – previously claimed that negotiations had been “reactivated” concerning the striker after he was dropped for the win over Kilmarnock.
However now the journalist has retweeted claims from Lille fan media We Are Dogues which claims negotiations are at a “standstill”.
The tweet from We Are Dogues claims that whilst “nothing has been abandoned” the latest offer of €16m (£14.2m) was rejected by Rangers.
This is in contrast to reports in the UK which claimed Rangers rejected a £16m (€18m) offer for the player [Daily Mail].
The Ibrox club are also said to be holding out for £20m (€22.5m) for the Colombian international.
We Are Dogues also speculate that after the player was left out against Kilmarnock by Steven Gerrard, this “could speed things up” concerning any move.
To be clear it remains to be seen how close to Lille the fan media group are but they are being validated by media in South America.
The future of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been the topic of much debate with Gers gaffer Gerrard claiming the player has had his “head turned” by the interest from Lille.
Rangers remain determined to hold out for the player’s transfer value and show no signs of budging on this.
