Rangers deal for international imminent – one of two final signings?

A deal for American international Matt Polster appears imminent after Steven Gerrard confirmed the deal is “very close” in his pre-match press conference.
The defensive midfielder turned right back has been on trial with the club over the last few weeks. Gerrard said earlier in the week that he hoped to tie the 25 year old ex-Chicago Fire man down for several years.
Rangers have been linked with numerous names in the window. Five was the latest count, according to Four Lads Had a Dream.

But in today’s conference Gerrard only intimated interest in Polster and one other player. This time New Zealand international goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic. Marinovic joined the club on trial a few days ago and now it looks like Rangers will be offering him a deal.
Any move for the former Vancouver Whitecaps keeper will surely see Wes Foderingham moved on.

Gerrard seemed to play down any other incomings in the window. But is the Gers Manager keeping his cards close to his chest?

He did of course claim Rangers wouldn’t seek major transfers into Ibrox in the January window prior to it opening. Look how that turned out.
International duo Matt Polster and Stefan Mariniovic may well be Rangers’ fifth and sixth signings of a productive window.

But I wouldn’t rule out Rangers transfer haul this January ending there, just yet.
