Rangers could net a profit on summer signing John Lundstram if they were to sell the Steven Gerrard acquisition in the January transfer window according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Lundstram has struggled for game time under new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, featuring in only three Premiership matches under the Dutchman, he played the full 90 minutes in the Europa League tie against Lyon, although this was a dead rubber.
With van Bronckhorst looking to bring in his own signings and retune the squad to how he sees fit, it could mean the Ibrox side could listen to any offers for the Englishman.
“Obviously he was signed by a different manager in Steven Gerrard,” said O’Rourke [GiveMeSport].
“So, for Rangers, they might decide to cash in on Lundstram right now and they make a bit of money out of it after getting him on a free transfer.”

At this moment in time, it is hard to tell. Whilst arriving at the club with a good reputation, early performances were mixed as the fans voiced their frustrations.
The 27-year-old settled in and got a decent run in the team, then Gerrard left, and he hasn’t had an extended run since October.
The player is valued at £4.95m [Transfermrkt] and with old boss Chris Wilder reportedly interested in taking the midfielder to Middlesbrough [DailyRecord], selling for a profit could make perfect financial sense.
With the side ready to return from the winter break on Tuesday to play Aberdeen, it will be interesting to see whether or not Lundstram is involved for the match.
