Aberdeen chief Dave Cormack has publicly pleaded with Scottish Government figures to open a dialogue about the safe return of fans in Scotland.
The Dons boss was speaking with the northeast club set to see matchday revenue drop by 82% and a projected £5m loss on the horizon.
Aberdeen are obviously just one of 42 member clubs currently affected by the Covid-19 enforced lock-out with Rangers fans being completely locked out of the club’s games all season.
The Dons had a successful test event in September and Cormack wants First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to open the lines of discussion for football clubs.
“This sobering chart is not about Aberdeen,” said Cormack, via Twitter.
“Could be any club. What about fairness in restrictions?
“The highly-regulated tests we’ve pulled off should be no surprise to Jason Leitch who told clubs outdoor fresh air events in stadiums were more palatable than indoor events.
“Witness the unregulated, hopefully isolated, mess Thursday night! Some clubs have reluctantly cut back on community programmes and academies to stay competitive at first-team level.
“It’s called survival! What Scottish football needs is urgent dialogue, encouragement and a plan to get fans back safely. Will Nicola Sturgeon and Jason Leitch meet us?”
Rangers have faced a lockout of supporters since mid-March with the last time the club’s fans were in Ibrox the 3-1 defeat to Leverkusen in the Europa League last 16 from last season.
Whilst everyone wants the safe return of supporters as soon as possible, should we be facing up to the idea that we won’t see the inside of Ibrox until at least 2021?
