Rangers conspiracies ridiculed as Celtic hand Gers title advantage

After a week of Celtic fans crying refereeing conspiracies about Rangers, the Scottish Premiership weekend delivered a poetic retort.

The Parkhead club had no-one to blame but themselves as new striker Giorgos Giakoumakis missed an injury time penalty and the club dropped two points at home to Livingston.

In the latest instalment of the worst conspiracy in the history of conspiracies, masonic referee Bobby Madhun awarded Celtic a last-minute spot-kick and sent off Ayo Obileye for a clash with Kyogo Furuhashi.

Whilst Furuhashi went down like he’d been shot by a sniper off the top stand, Obileye raised his hand and gave the ref a decision to make.

As a result, Bobby will not getting his usual round of friendly handshakes when the anti-Celtic masonic society meet under Hampden next Tuesday.

But even the all-seeing eye wasn’t to blame as tens of thousands of them saw Giakoumakis make a pig’s ear of the penalty and Max Stryek make an important save.

This was after John Beaton came under fire for awarding Rangers a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Aberdeen, evidence apparently of this bonkers conspiracy and enough to have genuine members of the sports media allude to it in a series of tweets.

How foolish they all now look.

Well, that’s if you were excusing the fact Celtic won 8.75 titles in a row and 12 trophies on the bounce in perhaps the most glaring evidence of the worst conspiracy in human history.

Oh, or the fact Celtic average nearly 14 fouls before receiving a yellow card, genuinely blowing away the rest of the league.

Rangers take full advantage of Celtic slip up as conspiracies distract fans

All attention then turned to Fir Park and Rangers didn’t need the assistance of their masonic brethren as they thrashed Motherwell 6-1 and restored a four-point lead.

Celtic had the chance to turn the screw on Rangers after beating Hibs 3-1 in midweek and – let’s not beat around the bush – bottled it against Livingston. Rangers responded.

Their side, whilst ebbing and flowing in the Premiership this season, still looks a touch off properly challenging Rangers and if we can keep up our performances, we should stretch our necks out in the final furlong of the title race.

But if Rangers do win the title and Celtic do capitulate in the process, then this weekend proves it certainly won’t be the referees who’ll shoulder the blame.

This weekend also saw the emergence of a new Rangers hero as Fashion Sakala offically launched his Ibrox career with a hatrrick.
