A documentary series looking at former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton’s first year at Fleetwood Town is set to be released.
The special film – titled “A Season on the Edge” – looks at the League One side’s first season under the stewardship of the fiery midfielder. It has been produced by Friday Films and SENT Entertainment.
Controversy has never been far from fiery midfielder Barton and the documentary looks an enthralling watch.
The Rangers connection doesn’t begin and end with Joey Barton either. Rangers midfielder Jason Holt has spent the season on-loan at the Lancashire club.
The trailer includes footage of a dressing room brawl where Holt can be seen trying to split two players up. Tempers are clearly running high and the series is a chance to get a fly-on-the-wall look at the club’s season.
Former Rangers midfielder Barry Nicholson is also the reserve team manager at Fleetwood Town, whilst former Gers centre back Clint Hill is Barton’s assistant.
It’s been an up and down season for Fleetwood who currently sit 11th in League One, an admirable placing given their relative size.
Despite featuring in the documentary, Jason Holt, 26, recently had his season cut short with a knee injury. It now looks like he is set to return to Ibrox with a year remaining on his deal.
