Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the clash against Dundee United at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

The Ibrox side are preparing to welcome the 4th place Arabs at the unusual time of 3pm on a Saturday as Philippe Clement’s team kickstart a hectic run of fixtures all the way to March.

With Rangers looking to make up nine points on Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic and Aberdeen, the club can ill-afford any more slip ups on domestic duties.

Here’s how Rangers will line up against Dundee United in this afternoon’s Scottish Premiership clash at Ibrox.

Rangers starting XI v Dundee United confirmed

Rangers star with Jack Butland between the sticks at Ibrox, the Rangers goalkeeper an ever-present for Philippe Clement’s side this season.

Dujon Sterling gets the nod at right-back with James Tavernier on the bench, Rangers having suffered an injury to Neraysho Kasanwirjo in the run up to the game.

Scotland international John Souttar was praised by Philippe Clement heading into the game and partners Robin Propper at the centre of the Rangers defence.

Brazilian left-back Jefte starts the game at Ibrox with Turkish international Ridvan Yilmaz expected to be involved from the bench.

In midfield, Rangers midfield duo Nicolas Raskin and Connor Barron are beginning to form a solid partnership and continue at Ibrox.

Mohamed Diomande continues in the number 10 berth after an injury to Tom Lawrence before the international break.

Rangers then look to Albanian and Czech internationals Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny on the flanks, with first-choice striker Cyriel Dessers getting the nod up top.

Philippe Clement demands Rangers kill off Dundee United

Rangers boss Philippe Clement wants both a result and a performance from his players against Dundee United at Ibrox.

The Gers manager reflected on a poor second half showing in the 1-0 win over Hearts and has urged his side to put in a 90 minute display for the fans at Ibrox.

Urging his team to ‘improve’, Clement has asked his players to go out and get the second goal to kill off matches and allow them room to breathe.

“We want both (a performance and result), of course,” Clement told reporters before the game. “That was a disappointment after the Hearts game also.

“Where you play a good first-half, where you create a lot of chances, you don’t give away almost anything, only one backward pass from John (Souttar), where Jack (Butland) came out.

“But in the second half, our level went down, and that’s not what I want to see. I want to see that we keep on pushing for the second goal, and that we make the difference earlier in the game.

“That you don’t need to fight until the last second, that the other team stays in the game. So that we need to improve in this game.”
