Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the Scottish Premiership visit of Dundee at Ibrox.

The Gers are looking to get back to winning ways in Glasgow after the club’s controversial 5-4 penalty kicks loss to Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup Final at Hampden.

Rangers were controversially denied a penalty by the VAR with the coverage of the match in the fall-out dominated by criticism of the disgraceful decision.

Rangers will now look to get back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership and Philippe Clement has picked his team for the visit of Dundee.

Rangers confirm starting XI v Dundee

Ever-present Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland continues in the starting berth as the Gers prepare to face Dundee.

Rangers captain James Tavernier is then preferred at right-back as the Gers look to get back to winning ways at Ibrox this afternoon.

In defence, much has been made about Rangers’ injury problems at centre-back with John Souttar joining Neraysho Kasanwirjo on the sidelines.

Dujon Sterling and Robin Propper have been given the nod at the heart of the Rangers defence, whilst Brazilian left-back Jefte will continue in a starting berth.

In midfield, Rangers start with Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, who are forming a formidable partnership at Ibrox.

Ianis Hagi then starts in the number 10 berth with Hamza Igamane off the left and Vaclav Cerny starting off the right.

Brazilian striker Danilo is then given the nod in the number nine berth.

‘Rangers must focus on Dundee’

“Yeah, that’s normal and it’s also really difficult to accept that,” said Clement when asked about the penalty that never was against Celtic.

”But for us, it’s now really important to put that in the back of our heads, to stop thinking about it, because we have tomorrow a very important game against Dundee and that’s what I spoke with the players also about this week.

”You cannot keep on thinking about that. We need to focus now on what we’ve been doing and to do that in the game against Dundee and taking the three points. And we need to focus on that.

“We don’t have the luxury that other people have to stay in that moment. Fans have, they have this opportunity, they can do that.

“But I hope also that they see how much this team is working, what they are doing on the pitch and to support them like they have been doing brilliantly in these last couple of games.

“And that doesn’t change because of what happened in the final. So we need to continue in that way.”
