Michael Beale has spoken to the Liverpool Echo on Steven Gerrard’s situation amid ongoing links with the Liverpool job.
The Gers boss is a legendary figure at Ibrox following a storied playing career, and he’s been touted by current Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, as his likely replacement [Metro].
Having said that, given that Klopp led Liverpool to the Champions League title last season and that his side are eight points clear in the Premier League table, the chances of him being asked to leave anytime soon are virtually zero.

Rangers coach Beale offers thoughts on Gerrard
“We have not spoke about it,” the Gers coach told the Liverpool Echo. “It’s a compliment of course, but at this moment in time, Liverpool have the best manager for them.”
“I don’t think Steven is looking too far ahead, it is a big job and obviously that is the dream – or rather, the aim – for him long term to manage the club.
“But I think Steven would say himself, right now, the best manager for Liverpool Football Club is Jurgen Klopp. Long may that continue.”

Verdict
There has been a lot of chat about Gerrard’s potential departure to Liverpool and in terms of his career, it’s probably a question of when rather than if he gets that appointment.
Yet, such is the security held by Klopp right now, the only way it can be envisaged in the next few years is if the German says enough is enough and walks away on his own terms.
Gerrard is still very much learning his trade as a manager, as we saw during last month’s Old Firm, but in general, he’s done an excellent job for Rangers so far.
There’s nothing to suggest that down the line, he wouldn’t be good enough for the Anfield hot seat, but he’s got a job to do at Ibrox first.
