Rangers “club policy” boost in reported pursuit of Celtic player's brother

Peterborough United star and Rangers-linked attacker Siriki Dembele could be on his way out of London Road as part of “club policy” if the player fails to sign a new contract.

The talented attacker, 25, was a major influence in the Posh’s promotion bid this season and netted 11 goals and laid on 12 assists in 41 league games.

But as Peterborough prepare to tackle the Championship next season, the Peterborough Telegraph are claiming that Dembele will be transfer listed if a new deal cannot be struck.

The attacker has year left to run on his current deal and if he doesn’t commit himself to Peterborough they will look to cash in on the player this summer as per “club policy”.

However, the report does admit that neither party is yet to enter discussions regarding a new deal.

Back in December last year, Peterborough United sporting director Barry Fry claimed both Rangers and the Scottish national team had been to watch the player [Peterborough Telegraph].

The brother of Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele, the Parkhead club were also linked along with Fulham, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Stoke City.

That would suggest that there will be some competition for Dembele’s signature this summer should he be put up for sale by Darren Ferguson’s side.

Rangers have been linked to a host of names ahead of next season as the club look to launch an assault on the Champions League group stages.

The Gers have been linked to another key Peterborough United player from this season and were boosted last week by the news that the club may have to sell the player if the price is right.
