March was a record-breaking month for Rangers on social media as they hammered rivals Celtic and received their highest ever engagement numbers [Deportes&Finanzas Twitter].
It’s been an outstanding season on the field so far for the Gers.
Steven Gerrard’s side wrapped up the Premiership title with six matches to spare and made it to the Last 16 of the Europa League, while they remain unbeaten in the league.
However, strides have also been made off the pitch.
The club have struck a number of new commercial partnerships and merchandise sales have soared.
The success has extended to social media, too, with established analytics Twitter page Deportes&Finanzas showing just how dominant Rangers have been online.
Back in February, the Gers recorded over 5m engagements across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, over three times Celtic’s 1.69m [Deportes&Finanzas].
However, it’s now clear that that was only a warm-up for March, the month in which 55 was secured.
Figures posted on Wednesday morning show that Rangers achieved 9.56m engagements in 31 days, their highest ever total.
Meanwhile, Celtic’s numbers improved on February’s but only marginally, with their final total 1.81m.

That means Rangers achieved over five times as many engagements as their rivals from across the city, in a veritable hammering.
The Ibrox media team deserves a pat on the back for these figures as the club’s brand continues to grow globally.
Attention turns back to the pitch on Sunday, with a Scottish Cup fourth-round Old Firm clash at Ibrox and Premier Sports have confirmed unusual TV plans for the match.
