Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has swotted away the suggestion RB Leipzig defender Willi Orban was playing mindgames when he discussed the German side’s fatigue.
The Hungarian centre-back was talking after the much-changed German side fell to a 2-1 defeat to the hands of Union Berlin at the weekend.
Claiming that the hectic schedule of matches was taking its toll on the side, Willi Orban suggested that RB Leipzig were beginning to feel the effects of fatigue this season after playing four games in 10 days.
“Looking back, it wasn’t a really good performance from us and wasn’t enough,” said Orban [Scottish Sun].
“It’s frustrating and we’re disappointed but it’s an opportunity to take a break after some intense weeks to recover mentally and physically.
“The loss has also shown us we have to give 100 per cent as things don’t just happen on their own. But we’re still in good form and want to carry that on at home on Thursday.”

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was asked about the comments in the pre-match presser ahead of the RB Leipzig match.
Specifically, the Dutchman was asked about Rangers’ reaction to the comments and whether or not he felt there were some mindgames afoot.
However, for van Bronckhorst and his charges the comments will not change their preparations and the Rangers manager even sought to rationalise what Willi Orban was suggesting.
“We just concentrate on our own game,” said Van Bronckhorst [Rangers].
“We have also played many games in the last weeks so I think for everyone still involved in Europe, in all the competitions, it’s quite demanding on the squad mentally and physically. In that case it’s the same for all of us.
“We have to make sure we are doing well ourselves and prepare the way we want to play against Leipzig. For me that’s more important than what other players or teams feel.”
Rangers are preparing for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final with RB Leipzig and whether what Willi Orban says is true or not, the club are very much focused on what they can do.
Meanwhile, the Rangers boss also answered questions on a potential deal for a former Premier League defender.
