Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has earned a comparison to former Ibrox star Giovani van Bronckhorst as the Ibrox club travel to Holland.
The two were top-class players in their day, with both having Champions League medals to their name and GVB even making it a World Cup Final in 2010.
Both are also young coaches making their way in the game, with van Bronckhorst enjoying a trophy-laden spell with Feyenoord earlier this decade.

It’s lead current Feyenoord boss Dick Advocaat, who also described his time at Rangers as the most “beautiful” in his career [BBC Sport], to compare the two. Even with himself.
“Do I see any of myself in Steven Gerrard? He was a much better player than me!” said Advocaat [Daily Record].
“Seriously, on the touchline, maybe I was even more passionate than him. Maybe. But I saw him against Feyenoord and against the referees. It is a little bit the same as I do so in that way, definitely.
“You can see Rangers have the right personality there in Gerrard. You can see the way he is on the touchline.
“With his profile and background everybody knows what he is about. You can see it in the players as well because everyone is really fighting for their position.
“It is a young age to be managing Rangers but Feyenoord did the same here with Gio van Bronckhorst and in three or four years’ time we had five prizes. It shows what is possible.”
Rangers fans would certainly take the comparisons to ring true with the Ibrox club in the coming seasons too.

It’s all set up for Steven Gerrard to emulate at Rangers what Giovani van Bronckhorst did at Feyenoord.
The Dutchman is considered a legend at the de Kuip, having won the club their first Eredivisie title in 18 years back in 2017.
