Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wasn’t immune from the criticism of the Rangers support today after the club dropped another two points in the Scottish Premiership title race against Aberdeen.
The Ibrox side has now dropped five points in three league games meaning Celtic’s lead in this crucial league season is now four points.
Our rivals can go seven clear should they do the business away to Hamilton and that then opens up a considerable gap for Rangers to close.
It is immensely frustrating to see and some of the club’s supporters have directed their ire towards the manager after the 0-0 draw with Aberdeen, mostly for his substitutions.
One of his changes – Sheyi Ojo – was uninspiring and uninterested as the club struggled to create clear cut chances.
He’s been slaughtered by fans in the aftermath.
We knew how Aberdeen were going to set up today – and whilst the manager can only do so much – we have seen this play out many times before.
Rangers struggle to find a rhythm against the Dons and there’s an argument here that we should be more pragmatic in frustrating tussles with them.

Steven Gerrard said he was frustrated with the result at Ibrox after the match and the Gers boss has called on the side to find their creative spark once again.
“I think as a whole there wasn’t too much wrong with the way we played today,” said Gerrard [Scottish Sun].
“I think we threw everything we had at it.
“I just think we are missing a spark in the final third. That’s not just today but over the four games since we have come back.
“As it stands right now we are four points off the top, two draws off the top. But that is not important unless we find our spark in the final third.
“We need to get back to the level we were at before the break.
“That is the key, that is the most important thing. And we need to keep going because I believe there will be more twists and turns.
“As far as I’m concerned we keep going, we keep pushing. But I need my players to find their spark.
“There are a few players around the squad at the moment who are capable of helping us find that spark. They need to come with us.”
The club will dust themselves down and prepare for the visit of Hibernian on Wednesday night.
